University of Waikato International Day
|Date||Wednesday 19 September 2018|
|Time||1pm - 6:30pm|
|Where||University of Waikato|
Put on your favourite ethnic dress and come celebrate cultural diversity on campus! This event is a celebration of the University's cultural diversity. It is an event that looks to showcase some of the internationalcultures we have on campus.
Join us on the Village Green from 1-3pm for free ethnic food tasting, cultural performances, cultural arts and crafts, national dress parade, holi colour run, and more!
The evening will feature a ‘Lantern Festival’ held on the Village Green Lakes from 5-6:30pm, along with other family-friendly entertainment, and an extended invitation to the wider Hamilton community to attend this part of the event.
The focus of the day is to bring to the attention and awareness to all of the diverse range of cultures represented in our student body, and allow our International students the opportunity to contribute to University culture and community. The involvement of the wider Hamilton community also aims to bring awareness of the valuable contribution of International Students, which we hope will bring about better integration and positive inclusion.
