Dr Laura Haughey is the director and dramaturg of an original show about to set out on tour next month as part of Auckland Arts Festival. The multi-award winning 'Sorry For Your Loss', written and performed by Waikato Theatre Studies alumni Cian Parker, and supported by Creative New Zealand, will perform at various venues across Auckland in March 2021.
In addition to this Auckland tour, there is also a special performance of 'Sorry For Your Loss' at the Playhouse Theatre at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts. As part of the Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival, this is a specially created NZSL interpreted version of the show, where Laura has joined forces with Deaf director of interpretation Rachel Turner (also a student at Waikato) to create an accessible version of the show where the interpreter joins the actor on stage, ensuring great visibility for Deaf audiences, without having to break any sight lines.
