Event overview:
Robotics, AI,quantum computing all sound far away and disconnected from everyday work, but new technologies impact how we work. What got our community here won't get us closer to the flourishing, inclusive community many envisage unless we innovate – together – at every level. Whether you are an employer, employee, learner, entrepreneur or investor the near-term future is going to include new and different skills, relationships and methods. This event aims to bring clarity to what to expect and how you might prepare yourself to participate in the future of work.
Through presentations and a panel discussion from experts working in economic development, academia, international consulting and community enterprise the event will explore:
– how the pace of technological change will affect you and what is happening to prepare for it;
– what are the current and short-range trends for you and your children; and
– what can be done by our community to mitigate threats and deliver the means to take advantage of meaningful employment opportunities available in the future of work.
