Are you looking to do business with Scotland? Both importers and exporters are welcome to join this free virtual trade exchange.
The recent UK - NZ Free Trade Agreement will make it easier for Kiwi businesses to trade with the United Kingdom, including the great nation of Scotland. It's not often that you get this free opportunity to learn how to trade successfully and build local relationships. The University of Waikato, Auckland, Waikato, and Tauranga Chambers of Commerce are partnering with the Scotland Chambers of Commerce to deliver a virtual trade mission, with the goals to:
Make valuable connections and help kiwi businesses learn more about trading in Scotland, and
Provide a platform for like-minded businesses to share mutual challenges, experiences, and opportunities, as well as learn from each other.
We welcome kiwi businesses looking to explore trade opportunities with Scotland to be involved in this virtual trade mission.
About the Mission:
As part of this virtual trade mission, we will be running market awareness sessions to learn more about Scotland and New Zealand, as places to do business. Companies will also be invited to participate in a virtual networking event with attendees from both countries representing a range of sectors:
Food & Beverage
Life Science & Digital Health
Health and Fitness
Technology & Innovation
Marine Science & Aquaculture
Transport & Infrastructure
Occurring in the week commencing 14 November 2022.
The mission will take place virtually, with morning and evening sessions.
Attendees will take part in a range of workshops including market awareness sessions, technical expertise, networking, and B2B meetings. Both importers and exporters are encouraged to attend.
Welcome note from Scotland:
Inverness Chamber of Commerce is pleased to be working with partners in New Zealand to deliver a virtual trade mission that will prove beneficial for both, consumers and businesses. Despite the 11,000 miles of land and sea that separate Scotland and New Zealand, the cultural and economic synergies between our two countries are clear. Our similar-sized nations face comparable challenges as well as attitudes to doing business.
As a nation home to creative thinkers and innovation centres for excellence, Scotland has a lot to offer for companies working on research and development projects. Scotland has a strong, diverse economy with key sectors including Energy, Digital and Technology, Health and Life Sciences, and Food & Beverage to name a few.
Our Food and Beverage industry’s world-leading technological expertise and openness to innovation make us a perfect dynamic location to undertake the development and testing of new products. Home to one of Europe’s largest life science clusters, Scotland acts as a hub for research, development, and manufacturing which plays a vital role in the Scottish economy. We have a strong legacy in the oil and gas industry and an abundance of renewable energy resources which is why the Highlands and Islands region of Scotland is bidding to be a world capital for renewable energy.
This is an exciting opportunity for New Zealand businesses interested in making long-lasting connections and collaborating with like-minded Scottish companies. We invite New Zealand businesses to explore all that Scotland has to offer and we Scots look forward to building valuable relationships with the Kiwis.
