World renowned marketing expert Professor Ajay K. Kohli is set to give an unmissable one-hour talk on ‘Customer Centricity in a Digital World’ at the University of Waikato’s Management School on Tuesday, 3 September, starting at 5.30pm.

This free talk is open to all members of the business community, as well as alumni, staff and postgraduate students of the University of Waikato. Complimentary drinks and nibbles provided from 5pm.

Dr Kohli’s talk will focus on the meaning and measurement of customer experience; and highlight some of the ways that digital technologies are reshaping customer insights to select target customers and provide superior experiences to them. He will also outline some practical steps that firms can take to become more customer oriented in the digital era.

Dr Kohli’s award-winning research has revolutionised the field of marketing by elevating the importance of customer orientation from sales tactic to the boardroom level, ensuring that customers’ needs are placed at the very heart of an organisation’s brand and strategy.

This work has made Dr Kohli one of the world’s most cited experts in marketing research, as well as being among the world’s 100 most cited authors in business and economics.

This event is hosted by Waikato Management School - ranked in the top 1% of business schools worldwide with its prestigious Triple Crown Accreditation - and the New Zealand Institute for Business Research, which offers tailored research, advisory and consultancy services.

Dr Kohli has formerly served on the faculty of several universities, including Harvard Business School. He has consulted for the World Bank and some of the world’s biggest multinational companies, including Coca-Cola, 3M, Eastman Kodak, IBM, Shell, Dow Chemical and Halliburton.

Dr Kohli is the former editor-in-chief of the Journal of Marketing, the world’s leading academic marketing journal, and is currently an associate editor of the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Marketing Research, and the International Journal of Research in Marketing.
