Te Pae Kōkako - The Aotearoa New Zealand Opera School (TANZOS) is a new intensive MMus in Advanced Opera Studies and is the first of its kind in Aotearoa. The programme will have the artists working closely with international tutors, travelling for residencies with opera companies both here and abroad, and engaging in an holistic training programme encompassing everything young artists need to get the best start in an opera career. This recital is a public introduction to our inaugural cohort and a chance for you to see them in action: Sopranos Katherine Winitana and Rhiannon Cooper, Mezzo-soprano, Cecilia Zhang, Tenors, Emmanuel Fonoti-Fuimaono (not available for the recital) and Taylor Wallbank and Bass-Baritone, Alfred Fonoti-Fuimaono. The programme will include well-known arias and ensembles from many of the world’s best-loved opera composers: Puccini, Verdi, Mozart, Bizet, Wagner and more.
