REO PĀKEHĀ Keynote: Te Mana o Te Wai Our freshwater environments are under increasing pressure, from watertakes and pollution from numerous sources. At this year's Koroneihana, Kiingi Tuheitia reaffirmed the importance of wai māori and Te Mana o te Wai. This presentation will provide an overview of Te Mana o te Wai, the intrinsic connection of wai with iwi Māori, how various iwi express it and how Councils and all water users should be responding to it.

REO RUA Ki-o-Rahi Come along and learn how to play! The game of Ki o Rahi stems from the legend of Rahitutakahina and Tiarakurapakewai. It is essential that when learning the game that the puurakau (story) is also learnt. The story demonstrates that the sport is much more than a game. TE REO MĀORI Te Mana o Te Reo Māori Te Ururoa Flavell will provide the vision, background and enactment of Te Ture mō Te Reo Māori 2016 (The Māori Language Act 2016) as Minister of Māori Development at that time. The Act lead to the establishment of Te Mātāwai whose purpose is to help kāinga (homes), hapori (communities) and iwi pursue their own Māori language aspirations. Dr. Haki Tuaupiki is a recent appointmen to Te Mātāwai. Facilitator: Associate Professor Te Kauhautu Maxwell. REO PĀKEHĀ Restoring relationships through Indigenous Trade Initiatives Panel - Chris Insley, Chair of Te Taumata, Associate Professor Jason Mika, expert in Māori business, and Associate Professor Maui Hudson, Director of Local Contexts, will explore how the Indigenous to Indigenous exchange of taonga, people and products are integral parts of emerging Indigenous Trade Initiatives. Te Kotahi Research Institute will facilitate a panel of speakers to discuss current participation in International trade negotiations and opportunities for restoring Indigenous to Indigenous trade relationships.   Playhouse 1:00 PM
REO RUA Ngā Hononga ā Kiwa Te Whare Wānanaga o Waikato has delivered Te Hononga ā Kiwa (THK) on behalf of the three Centres of Asia Pacific Excellence regions - South East Asia, North Asia & Latin America since 2018. As the only programme targeted at a national level for Māori Business specifically, THK brings Māori Business and Māori tertiary students together with experts in customs and language, with indigenous knowledge at the forefront. Moreover the Alumni programme Ngā Hononga ā Kiwa supports and provides further exposure and opportunities for students.

Te Rangitāmiro, in its first year of delivery focuses on Māori secondary students that aims to unpack, share and show global citizenship education in practice for Ngāi Māori.

REO RUA Rangiriri Pā Rangiriri Pā was an ignition point for the invasion of the Waikato in 1863. The land was later confiscated as part of the 1.2 million acres and lost by Waikato Māori. In 2016, Rangiriri was returned to Waikato and redeveloped as a tribally signifcant site. REO PĀKEHĀ Integrating Kaupapa Māori Integrating Kaupapa Māori is a current paper offered at Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato with Centre of Tertiary Teaching, CeTLL. This paper provides an introduction to Kaupapa Maori as an indigenous knowledge framework, and encourages examination and evaluation of existing learning programmes in terms of bi-cultural integration. REO RUA Whakairo Kupu - Carving out our own parts of speech, Carving a foundation for Te Reo Māori tech tools: Aoife Finn Aoife Ni Fhin, as Gaeilge/in the Irish language is an Irish linguist who works for Te Hiku Media as Data Scientist specialising in linguistics. A Te Reo Māori learner for seven years, Aoife's interests and expertise include syntax, in particular, the case system of Te Reo Māori.
