International Week 2020 - Celebrating the diverse cultures and valuable contribution of international students at the University of Waikato.

We invite all students to join in and celebrate the diversity of cultures that make up our Hamilton and Tauranga campuses. Check out the events happening on the Hamilton Campus, Tauranga Campus and online!

Week-long Activation Points

Online

Entries are now open for the online Cultural Dress Parade. Simply take a photo of yourself in your cultural attire, and email it with a small description to internationalevents@waikato.ac.nz. Entries close: 5pm, Sunday 4 October (may be extended). Winner announced at the conclusion of International Week. Did we mention there are prizes up for grabs!

Hamilton campus - Student Centre, Level 2:

  • Messages to Home - We know many of our international students cannot travel home for the summer, so come on in to the Student Centre on Level 2 and share your 'messages to home' on our board, 'travel' the world through books, and share your cultural language.
  • Faculty/Division International Challenge - Staff are encouraged to decorate your reception areas from Monday 5 October and send a photo to internationalevents@waikato.ac.nz. Entries close and winner announced Wednesday 7 October, 12pm.

Tauranga campus - The Hub, Level 1:

  • Pin Your Place in the World on the world map. Tell us a fact or memory from your home country, or where your favourite international destination is and BE IN TO WIN!
