Ageing Well: from here to 2060 - Professor Ngaire Kerse
Professor Kerse is a GP with a special interest in care of older people. She has led three decades of research into healthy ageing and falls prevention in all contexts. The LiLACS NZ project engaged over 900 Māori and non-Māori in their 80s in the Bay of Plenty region and followed them over 10 years to unlock the secrets to successful advanced age. Interviews with the 10 year survivors of the study are nearly completed.
This lecture will outline the main findings from the LiLACS NZ project, and point to strategies for healthy ageing, particularly brain and body health. Attendees will gain knowledge about New Zealand and international research in ageing, along with practical tips to age well. Lively participation will be invited.
The Tauranga Public Lecture Series is a free community event and open to the public to attend. Registration is essential. Please register your attendance by clicking on the REGISTER button and present your eticket at the door.
